Food - Secret Lunch in Vegas

I wanted to get a simple lunch and I was trying to find a place to eat and I heard about a place called Estiatorio Milos and I wanted to go to lunch there.  It is on the 3rd floor of the Cosmopolitan Hotel.  I got there and the restaurant is half empty and the lady asks me if I had a reservation and I said No, surprised, since it was empty, and she said they were already full and she could not accommodate us.  We left disappointed and then went to place called Secret Pizza.  The place actually had no name, but it is down a long hallway and I had read about this place and we went there for lunch and it was awesome.

It was truly NY Style pizza and was terrific.

If you have a chance you should go to this place for a terrific lunch.

Vegas - Pawn Shop

I watch a show on TV called Pawn Stars and I wanted to try and find something that is interesting so that I would get filmed and could get on TV.  So I went to a US Customs and DEA auctions where they seize items from drug dealers and other type of people and bought a US Olympics Commemorative Gold Coin, a Johnny Dang Diamond Watch and a Gold Chain you would find on a rapper.

I went to the Pawn Shop in the show and it was actually kind of empty as far as the parking lot, but inside the store it was crazy crowds of people.  I never realized that show had such a big following.  Anyway everyone was just looking at all the stuff and I really do not think it functions anymore as a pawn shop.  There was nobody pawning stuff, there so nobody buying anything except for commemorative TV show stuff.

I asked one of the staff members if they would buy my watch, and he said no, since it is hard to move and that they only bought Rolex's, Omega's and other popular watches.

I wanted to see how much a Rolex is nowadays and I asked to see the watch that I gave my dad a few years ago and they had the exact same watch for sale for $8995.00.  I remembering buying that watch for much less, when gold was around $250 an ounce, but with gold now at $1700 an ounce, it looks like the prices have gone up a lot.

I guess the true reality of what we see on TV is so much different than the reality.

I hear that they film the show at 6am since there are less people then, and I found everything for sale there way over priced.  I would never buy anything there.

Kumo with his Christmas Present

Here is Kumo with his Gold Chain he got for Christmas:

I was not sure if it was the right length, but it worked perfectly, he looks so cute with it on.  Until the baby comes, he is the only son of a rich family and it felt right to get him a gold chain. (Yes it is real gold)

Now he looks Indian.

Sunand sent me a picture of Teddy with a Burberry watch, so here is a picture of Kumo with his gold chain and a $10,000 Johnny Dang watch.

Here is a closeup picture of the watch.  It has black diamonds on the top and on the side and on the band.  I actually bought this at a US Government auction for $2800 and I was going to sell it at the pawn shop in Vegas that the show Pawn Stars is filmed at.  It looks like a watch that a rapper would wear, I could never wear this.  Way to flashy.  The girls want me to keep it, but no way.

Housing in DC

I was looking at houses to buy in Wash DC and the prices are crazy.

I like the new Toll Brothers House in Leesburg VA.  They are about 5000 sqft houses on 3 acres of land.  I think I can get it for around $800,000.

Here  is the link:  http://www.tollbrothers.com/VA/Shenstone_Reserve

I also saw a few houses for 1,200,000 in Herndon VA that are in the Oakton School district and I think I may settle on a house there.  Leesburg is a little far, but with the Greenway Tollroad I do not think it will be a big deal.

But compared to Novi MI, the Northern VA area is crazy expensive.

My guess is that I can get somewhere between $600,000 - $700,000 for my current house and the new house will cost me between $800,000 - $1,200,000.  Once I move to the DC area, I hope I can get over the sticker shock.

Moving to DC

We are moving to Northern VA on Dec 14th and I will start being based out of that area from then onwards.  I will come back to Detroit once in a while to check on the business, but I will be living in Wash DC from Dec 14th onwards.

I gave the wife an idea on what business to do in Wash DC and we will see how well she lives, breathes and dies with her new business.  If it was me, I would have written up a complete business plan, just so I have an idea of everything I have to do.  I would have been thinking so much about the new business, I would have been dreaming about it.

I will be starting the Wash DC division of VXL Training and that will keep me busy until the end of 2013.  If everything goes as planned, I would like to start the Dallas branch of VXL Training by 2013 ending.

Detroit, what can I say, you have been great to me and I will miss you.  I became successful and learned how to make a living in Detroit.   I am keeping the house for awhile, until I am settled in DC, so I will come back and visit.  Thank you so much for everything.

Fantasy Football

I am in two leagues;

TAMU12 and VXL Football League

This week are the start of the playoffs.

In VXL I am in 2nd place and have a bye and Bobby is in 1st place.  Amazingly, Bobby lost the first 3 games in the league and still ended up in first place, simply amazing.  He had a tremendous draft and after the draft was over, I was sure he would be the one that would win our league.  It is so sweet that Bobby and I are in 1st and 2nd place.

In TAMU12 I am in 5th place and am here is the match-up.  I like my team and feel like I have a good chance to win.

My opponent has already used up 3 players and has only gotten 9 points and McFadden got me 12 point on Thursday night game.    Thank goodness he scored that TD on that screen pass.  I feel like I have a good chance to win this league.  If I win this game I will play Viswant and I am not sure how the heck he got to 1st place, but I will play him and I feel like my team can beat him.  TAMU12 was the league I put an extra $2000 into, so maybe I can win some of my money back.

I like my chances in both of the leagues.
